In December 2025 the sport climbing competition of the 33rd SEA Games came to Bangkok, and M.L. Hariras Tongyai was on the inside of it as Head of Tech, Media & Protocol.
The role sat where the sport meets its systems: the technology that runs a competition, the media around it and the protocol of a regional games, with Hariras as the liaison to World Climbing, the sport's international federation.
The scoring ran live on the climbing platform he had founded the year before, Social Climbers Thailand, built for real-time competition scoring. Across 12 to 14 December it carried 11 nations through 3 disciplines.
The platform had been tested on the way there: Bangkok Boulderfest 2024, the city's first multi-gym bouldering series, scored eight gyms and 117 climbers on the same app.
